On June 22, 1941, he was part of a detail directing traffic at Red Rocks Park. He was riding a motorcycle and passing stopped traffic when an automobile suddenly made a left turn in front of him. He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital and died on June 26, 1941 as a result of the injuries he received.
Gulzow entered the Patrol September 23, 1935.
