Remembering Trooper Frances I. Galvan

Please keep Trooper Frances I. Galvin in your thoughts.

On May 24th, 1979, Trooper Frances I. Galvin was investigating a fatal accident east of Pueblo involving a motorcycle and a car. At 10:20 pm, Galvin stepped into the roadway to check a small bit of information she needed and was struck by a passing eastbound vehicle. She was taken to St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, but her injuries were too severe, and she died the next afternoon, May 25th. Trooper Galvin was the first female to be killed in the line of duty for the Colorado State Patrol.
